I just found out that the Sony Clie UX-50 that I am wanting to buy, has IR but it is not consumer IR.  This means that it will beam data from palm to palm but it can not be used as a remote for a TV or such. I am hoping that this is not entirely true and that there is a software out there that will allow someone to use a non-consumer IR PDA to control their TV. If anyone knows of one, or knows that it is NOT possible please let me know.
