Can't Post

Hi

I've tried searching for instructions on using a Bluetooth COM port for ActiveSync between my Dell PC and my SPV C500.

I have the 'Partnership' as ActiveSync calls it set up successfully using my USB cable, but cannot get it to use Bluetooth.

I bought a cheap 10m USB bluetooth dongle that installed just fine with its WIDCOMM driver.

I can see each device from the other and 'bond' OK.

What I notice is that the Inbound and Outbound COM ports listed on my device do not match the ones listed on the PC for that bond. I cannot alter the ports on the BT Serial Port Setup screen of the C500, so are these sent from the PC during the bond or what? Its like its got confused somewhere as normally after deleting all devices/bonds/partnerships and starting again it gets either the Inbound or the Outbound port correct but the other one is wrong.

Is this the reason that ActiveSync will not find my device over Bluetooth and set a Partnership for it?

I've tried searching the web for people that have had similar problems and have not found an answer other than going the the obvious setup procedures.

Is my order wrong? Do I need to establish my COM ports before setting the ActiveSync partnership up? I think I've tried pretty much every order I can think of but it does not work, and the only thing that looks wrong is the COM port difference I explained above.

I have the latest version of ActiveSync by the way, and as far as I know my phone is up to date as well regards firmware and software versions.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Rob.
