It is said yesterday the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) confirmed that Asurion Corporation (the BlackBerry mobile phone dealer) is recalling alternative batteries which have given to consumers, the number reached four hundred and seventy thousand. Asurion has received two accidents of the consumer finger burns and the car chair being on fire because of the BlackBerry batteries.
It is reported that the batteries which led to the accident are not standard one of BlackBerry, but by the "double" of it provided by Asurion.
But regarding whether the batteries recalled this time include the domestic type which the domestic Blackberry phone users are most cared, the person concerned indicated that all the retreading machines which promoted by Asurion are affected, but he did not indicate these specific models. “99% of the Wuhan 8 series machines are retreading.”An anonymous Blackberry dealer told the reporters that most of blackberry phone sold by Wuhan big dealers are retreading, the entireoriginal machines are very few, therefore is nearly impossible to enjoy recalling service.
It is reported that the retreading machine’s price is 300 RMB cheaper than non-retreading one, but it is difficult to find a brand new one in Wuhan market. Such as the brand new BlackBerry 8900 have been referred to as "rare and protected animal", the market is filled with the type of refurbished machines.
Although Su Ning exclusively sell two section of official imported BlackBerry phone, most of consumers still buy unauthorized ones, which means most of the unauthorized BlackBerry mobile phone users may also be involved in it in Wuhan.
