Does anybody know the technical aspects of Get It Now? Why does it use voice minutes? Why do calls go straight to voicemail when downloading?

With GSM/GPRS downloads are automatically interrupted and resumed when calls come in. Why doesn't CDMA do the same?

hey there. in my opinion, it *should* be your data minutes, but it's really your voice minutes. according to my friend, they have great stuff to buy.

the only thing i downloaded from get it now was ringmaster. i'm not sure if you like that kind of stuff, but it's a ringtones that has a remixer (you can change the instrumentals, very nice).

hope this helsp

Other CDMA carriers do not ding your voice minutes when surfing, so I don't think this is related to technical aspects of the Get It Now data service; but probably a marketing decision that Verizon made.

Yes CDMA only allows calls to go to voicemail when a data session is in progress. My understanding is that as carriers overlay CDMA with EV-DO high speed coverage, there will be phones available that can do both voice and data AT THE SAME TIME. (Not sure if it is with 1xEV-DO or Rev A. But it is in the pipeline.)Now that will be cool!

Have you seen further info on this?
