Telus rolls out a new PTT (walkie talkie to many of us) phone, the LG 4750.

see photos at http://www.telusmobility.com/...ndset_lg_4750.shtml#

Lots of neat features at a midrange price, this phone should boost Telus' customer base for it's Instant Talk (walkie talkie ) service.

What do you think? Have you used a PTT phone on Telus or other carrier? How did you like it?

TELUS Mobility introduces its newest Push To Talk phone, the LG 4750 Instant communication and excellent sound quality in small and stylish
walkie talkie phone

SCARBOROUGH, ON, May 17 /CNW/ - TELUS Mobility today announced the LG
4750, the latest addition to its line-up of Instant Talk phones offering
instant Push To Talk (PTT) communication. Available exclusively in Canada from
TELUS Mobility, the LG 4750 features a high-quality speakerphone, a compact
clamshell design and one-button access to Instant Talk users across Canada and
the United States.
"As the long-time leader in Push To Talk services, TELUS Mobility
continues to introduce a rich array of PTT phones and other devices on both
our Instant Talk and Mike networks," said Robert Blumenthal, TELUS Mobility's
Vice President of Products and Services. "TELUS Mobility is proud to partner
with LG Electronics to bring Canadians this feature-rich PTT phone, which
makes instant contact as fast and easy as pushing a single button."
Thanks to a dedicated PTT button, Instant Talk phones work just like
walkie talkies, but with a range of thousands of kilometres. PTT service
eliminates the delays of regular phone dialing and voice mail, meaning clients
communicate faster, saving both time and money.
TELUS Mobility offers two PTT options: Instant Talk, a light-duty walkie
talkie service, and Mike, a powerful all-in-one network aimed at business
users. To learn more about TELUS Mobility PTT services, please visit
telusmobility.com/ptt.

The LG 4750
Packed in a unique clamshell design with a prominent integrated
speakerphone offering exceptional sound quality, the LG 4750 features a 65k
colour STN display, voice-activated dialing and voice memo, Vibe Mode for both
phone and Instant Talk, and 500 phone book entries with multiple numbers per
contact. The phone's "Do More" capabilities allow for two-way text messaging
and downloading of ringtones, images, games and applications.
The LG 4750 is available until June 19 for $74.99 on a 3-year contract,
or $299.99 with no contract. After June 19, the LG 4750 will cost $149.99 on a
3-year contract.
Unlimited Instant Talk service is available as an add-on to most TELUS
Mobility PCS rate plans. Clients with monthly rate plans over $40 can add
Instant Talk for $10 while those with plans $40 and under can add Instant Talk
for $20. Clients can use Instant Talk across the United States for 20 cents a
minute, billed by the second.
