TELUS Mobility today introduced the Motorola i830, the smallest phone ever that operates on the company's all-in-one Mike network. The Motorola i830 features Mike's® Direct Connect walkie-talkie, a high-resolution colour screen, JavaTM software capability and an integrated global positioning system (GPS) receiver.

"The Motorola i830 is a multifunctional business communications power tool that integrates the speed of instant Push To Talk communication, digital phone and other wireless services in a compact and elegant design," said Robert Blumenthal, Vice President of Products and Services at TELUS Mobility.

Based on Motorola's unique iDEN® (integrated digital enhanced network) technology, Mike combines digital PCS phone, Direct Connect walkie-talkie, text messaging, "always on" Internet access and other business-oriented wireless services in a single compact device. Mike is the only digital wireless network in Canada offering instant Push To Talk technology.

Clients can use Mike's Direct Connect walkie-talkie service across Canada and the United States on TELUS Mobility's Mike and Nextel Communication's all-digital networks. That gives Mike clients instant Push To Talk access to millions of iDEN users, whether they're thousands of kilometres or even a country apart. Mike users will also benefit from cross-border data services, including mobile e-mail, two-way messaging and wireless Web access.

Features of the Motorola i830 include:

* High-resolution 65k full-colour display
* Compact size: 85mm x 45mm x 20 mm
* Steel or Copper finish
* High-audio speakerphone
* Voice activated dialing
* Digital voice recorder
* Integrated Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver
