Hi everyone,
I wonder if anyone knows if Telus can phase out your plan after contract terme expires? I had a $50/month plan which I dind't want to renew. I though the plan could not be changed even after contract life run out, but "grenn Camaleon" thinks it is possible and I got charged big for a trip to the big Apple: $400+ for 5 days in New York. I remember there was a case against Roger's ATT but I can not recall details. If anyone has any info in this subject, please send me a line. carguev@hotmail.com

hey carguev,

If you are roaming in the US Telus will charge you a base rate of .95 cents for local calling and on top of that .50 cents for long distance. So if you're talking long distance from New York City back to somewhere in Canada you're being charged $1.45 per minute.

A $400 bill works out to approximately 275 minutes of long distance talk time. If you were in the big apple for 5 days thats about 55 minutes per day.

Those calculations are just a rough example so don't bank on them.

On top of that Telus states that charges for browser services in the U.S. may vary based on the the coverage area you are in and the type of browser your handset supports.

Check out this page for specific details supplied by Telus Mobility http://www.telusmobility.com/...age/us_roaming.shtml
