In a significant, but some say, late in the game move: Sprint opens up more International markets where standard Sprint phones can be used.

What do you think? Is there still opportunity for Sprint to make a dent overseas? Or have other North American carriers cornered the globe?

Sprint adds 7 countries to CDMA roaming list By Dan Meyer May 11, 2005 Sprint Corp. said it has added seven countries to its international CDMA roaming list, bringing the total number of countries in which Sprint's wireless customers can use their CDMA devices to more than 40 countries.
The carrier noted the newest roaming partnerships expand service to Jamaica, Peru, Venezuela, Taiwan, Thailand, Brazil and Saipan. Sprint also said it has expanded its current CDMA roaming coverage in Canada and the Dominican Republic.

The CDMA Development Group recently noted that CDMA networks were operational in 67 countries around the world.
Sprint also offers GSM roaming services in 150 countries for customers who require Sprint-provided rental GSM handsets. Sprint also recently launched Samsung Corp.'s quad-band IP-A790 that operates on the carrier's domestic CDMA network and international GSM networks.
