Fido Launches Much Anticipated Sequel to Popular Hiptop Wireless Device
New sleek hiptop2 includes integrated camera with flash, expanded
memory and enhanced phone quality-and maintains distinctive swivel-up
screen

Fido today announced the exclusive Canadian launch of the hiptop(TM)2
from Danger, Inc. Along with its new sleeker look come new ways to personalize
the all-in-one device. Equipped with its own on-line Catalog accessible from
the main menu, the hiptop2 provides quick and easy access to ringtones and
game downloads. Users can choose a TV theme or a clip from their favourite hit
song taken from the original recording to create a unique ringtone. There is
even a selection of famous quotes and animal sounds to tailor the Fido hiptop2
to suit all individual styles.
"Rarely have we had this kind of pent-up demand for a specific device
before its launch-the enthusiasm for the hiptop continues to amaze us," said
René Bousquet, Vice-President of Marketing for Fido. "With the volume of media
coverage the U.S. version (the Sidekick(R) II) has received and the buzz it's
generated with celebrities and athletes in the U.S., our customers have been
eagerly awaiting the Canadian launch of the device."
The hiptop2 combines camera, Internet, e-mail, organizer and phone all in
one device. For those who are busy juggling school or work and a busy social
calendar, the hiptop2 easily synchronizes with a PC to check calendars and
contacts from the office, campus, or gym. The small business owner has access
to HTML Web sites and the ability to open and view files in a multitude of
popular formats, including JPEG, Word and PDF-all on the large colour screen.
Accessing and replying to messages is simple with the QWERTY keyboard and
ergonomic design.
"It's not just the young fans who want to stay connected while trying to
juggle their busy lives, chat with friends and check their e-mail while on the
move," said Mr. Bousquet. "Business people appreciate the value they get from
the hiptop2, which is priced well below most other all-in-one devices-and it's

The hiptop2 retains many of the popular design features from the previous
version, such as the large swivel-up screen, in a new design that is 25%
slimmer than the original. It also has added features and functions such as a
larger memory, integrated camera with flash, and enhanced phone quality and
battery life.
The Danger hiptop2 is now available at Fido(R) locations across Canada
and from selected retail partners and is priced at $200 with a Fido Agreement.
Customers can add the hiptop data option at $20 per month to their airtime
package and enjoy unlimited surfing, chatting and e-mail.
