I can't seem to retrieve my voicemail on Fido via Skype. Has anyone been able to do this?

I'm guessing the Skype keypad doesn't produce enough output volume to send the signals to Fido, though I'm able to use the Skype keypad for other automated phone systems.

Are there any other tips or tricks? Is there a software tool, or hardware config I should try?

I've tried playing the tones from http://en.wikipedia.org/...lti-frequency#Keypad but it still doesn't register...

OK! I think Skype v3 pretty much solved this.

Works for me much better now!

Hi,

Seeing as you seem to know about Skype. I have a question -- how do you like it? I am thinking of using it, as we camp alot and are not able to find phones in the U.S. Can I just go to Walmart and buy the headset to start using it? Thanks for any info you can give me.

Sure, Sparky.

Give it a try.

Sometimes, it might sound a bit gargly, but it seems to be improving.

However, I would prefer not shop at Walmart...

Hi Sparky,

Probably the best way to learn more about Skype is to visit their site at http://www.skype.com/. One thing to remember is that calls are only free if both parties are using Skype. You do have to pay to call a landline or a cell phone. And yes, you will need a headset unless your computer has a built-in microphone.
