Cingular Wireless has certified Bluefire Security Technologies' mobile handset security solutions for use on its wireless data network. The carrier's business customers will benefit from the certification.
Cingular says the certified Bluefire products will enable its business customers to extend handset device security to the edge of their networks.

The certification gives Bluefire the right to market its products to Cingular's customers. "Mobile and wireless security continues to be one of the most significant concerns among Fortune 500 clients, including IT managers, product managers and C-level executives," says Mark Baker, Bluefire's director of carrier and strategic relations.
Bluefire's products are compatible with Palm, Pocket PC and Windows Mobile platforms and can be used on both wireless and wired networks. In February, Bluefire inked reseller contracts with CDW-G, GTSI, immixGroup, Merlin Technical Solutions and Northrop Grumman. Under the terms of the deals, the companies now offer Bluefire's wireless security solutions to federal, state and local government agencies.
