January 30, 2004 BASKING RIDGE, N.J. - AT&T Wireless (NYSE: AWE) today announced an offer that can give new and current customers on qualifying plans the freedom to make unlimited domestic mobile-to-mobile calls at no charge to any of the company's nearly 22 million customers.
"Our groundbreaking offer weaves our customers together into an enormous calling circle," said Michael Sievert, the company's chief marketing officer. "Combined with our wide array of calling plans, this new offer makes switching to or staying with the wireless service America trusts even more compelling."
New customers automatically receive free, unlimited calling from their mobile-to-mobile calling area when they sign a two-year contract for qualifying calling plans of $39.99 or more. In addition, current customers can request the new offer if they are already on such a plan, or upgrade to one, and renew their contract for two years.
This offer will be launched everywhere on Feb.6, when information about it will be available at any one of more than one-thousand AT&T Wireless retail stores. In addition, it will be supported by a major advertising campaign, including spots on the popular "American Idol," which AT&T Wireless sponsors.
