LEXINGTON, Ky. February 10, 2004 - ALLTEL and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers today announced that about 130 employees represented by the IBEW in southwest Kentucky have ratified a new three-year contract.
The contract covers IBEW members in Elizabethtown, Campbellsville, Glasgow and Somerset.
"We appreciate the IBEW's cooperation and determination in negotiating this new contract," said Terry Beeler, Kentucky market area president for ALLTEL. "This agreement provides the flexibility and continuity to meet the needs and expectations of customers in a highly competitive and rapidly changing industry."
"Local 463 appreciates the good-faith bargaining by ALLTEL to reach this agreement," said Johnny Hunt, president and business manager of IBEW Local 463. "We look forward to a joint effort in providing top-rate service to all of our valued customers."
