CHATSWORTH, CA, December 29, 2003 – SANYO Fisher Company has been honored with six prestigious Innovations 2004 Design and Engineering Awards, including a “Best of Innovations” award for its Fisher FVD-C1 Pocket CameraCorder™. The annual product showcase, to be held January 8-11 at the 2004 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, honors the year’s most innovative products sold in the U.S. The Pocket CameraCorder (now available at Sears stores, nationwide) is an easy-to-use, pocket-sized combination digital camcorder and still camera. Completely tapeless, it records up to 30 minutes of high-resolution MPEG4 video or up to 491 crisp 3.2 megapixel stills on one included 512MB SD memory card. In addition to being selected as a Best of Innovations honoree, the Fisher Pocket CameraCorder has also been selected for a 2004 Innovations Award, both in the “Video” category. Add clever captions or fun frames and share pictures wirelessly with family and friends. Features a 1.8-inch TFT color LCD display. The following SANYO product was awarded a 2004 Innovations Award in the “Personal Electronics” category: · SANYO M³ Mobility NV-E7000 is an all-in-one portable GPS navigation and mobile multimedia entertainment system. Advanced, DVD-based GPS navigation is only the beginning, as this high-performance device is also a portable DVD movie and CD/MP3 player. It can easily be moved between vehicles or used virtually anywhere, indoors or out. Entries in the Innovations 2004 Design & Engineering Awards Program were judged by a preeminent panel of independent industry designers, engineers and journalists. For the ninth year, the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) endorsed and acted as advisors to the Design & Engineering Showcase. Product evaluations are based on weighted criteria: value to user, aesthetics and contributions to the quality of life, as well as the product's innovative design and qualities. The awards will be on display for thousands of visitors to see at the Innovations 2004 Showcase at the 2004 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, January 8-11.
