I wonder if anyone can help? I have a Samsung P510 (UK model). I have used the camera to take digital images which are stored in "my pictures". As an experiment, I would like to try to print one or two of the images even thought the qualty will obviously be pretty low. I use the digital photo printing machines that are used in Boots the Chemists, Jessops and elsewhere. As the phone does not have a removable memory card I thought I would try to send an image from the phone to the machine for printing via infrared. I have activated the infrared on the phone but then the problems start! On one occasion the machine detected the phone and a window with the name of the model appeared on the screen; at all other times nothing has happened to suggest both devices are connected. Then when I try to go from the IRDA activation page on the phone to the camera menu and my pictures, it flashes up "deactivate IRDA or data cable"; but if I deactivate IRDA how can I send my image to the machine. Anyway, it is not immediately obvious HOW to send the picture anyway; the phone only seems geared up to send images by MMS. Can anyone help me with some general advice about this - or am I just being too ambitious and this is something that it is just not possible to do? Many thanks to anyone who can offer any advice.

Hi Videofan
you need to download images to your pc via an irda, mobile action do one which comes with software to down/upload to your phone, if you already have irda on pc then download easy gprs from samsungs website. You can't get video clips off phone, which is a shame.
hope this helps you

Thank you very much - but I fear you may have slightly misunderstood; this is nothing to do with the PC; the images I want to try to print are already in the phone's internal memory and I want to transfer them to the print-making machine in the shop; no use of cables is permitted so I am trying to use the phone's infra red capability - the machine flashed up a window (on one occasion only) saying it had detected the device (i.e. my phone) but nothing happened beyond that. I was expecting all the pictures stored in "my pictures" on the phone to scroll out on the print-making machine's screen, ready for me to select items for printing (as happens if you insert your memory card from a digital camera or a phone which has a detachable memory card into the slot), but nothing happened.
This is the problem I am trying to overcome, so I don't see how any software on a PC is going to help me.

Why do you need to use the print making machine in the shop?
Do you have access to a pc with an irda ?
You will not be able to connect directly with the machine, you can only download pictures from your phone to your pc using irda and easy gprs (samsungs software) then you could copy these to cd, that is if the print maker will accept it on cd. Any photo shop in uk can print from cd.

I see - but bit of a mystery, then, why these machines have an infra red reader! I have a PC at home not only is my printer is crap, the PC doesn't have infra red. For the few prints I want to make these shop machines are ideal; cost is not a consideration with very small numbers of prints altho of course it would be for bulk images.

Looks like I will have to forget about doing this (it was only an experiment anyway) but thanks to the two of you who gave me advice.
