SECAUCUS, N.J. March 13, 2003 - Panasonic, in conjunction with AT&T Wireless, today introduced its first GSM/GPRS Mobile Internet Phone with built-in digital camera. The Panasonic GU87 Mobile Internet Photo Phone which has been hailed in Europes Financial Times Magazine as �one of the defining iconic gadgets of 2003 - features an embedded digital 2x zoom camera and multimedia messaging service (MMS) capability that lets users take pictures and send them, along with voice and text messages, to friends, family or colleagues around the country. The GU87's sleek clamshell design, a style users today increasingly demand, features a large 2.1-inch TFT color display which offers 65,536-color viewing for a brighter, sharper image. The Panasonic GU87 supports AT&T Wireless full, two-way MMS service in the U.S., providing some of the fastest data transfer rates available today with continuous connection to the Internet making it easy and convenient to connect with others whether through images, voice or text. Now, users can interact with multimedia Web sites, thanks to the phones revolutionary GPRS system with global capabilities that allow users to send e -mail messages overseas. �By combining Panasonic's digital phone and imaging capabilities with AT&T Wireless cutting-edge mobile technology, we're delivering the latest and best way for people to share memories and information with just a simple point, click and send (MMS), said Frank DeFina, president of Panasonic Digital Communications & Security Company. Additional convenience comes in the form of a 200-name phonebook memory; subscriber features range from WAP 1.2.1, the Internet content/services protocol designed for mobile devices, to multi-party calling.
