Hi Sibic, Yes take everything with a shaker of salt. If you are looking to purchase a cell phone , which it sounds like you are, do a lot of homework first. Lots of things can affect cell phone reception. Distance from the tower topography what carrier is being accessed phone brand specific phone model All of these are important. Is your home the primary place where you will use your cellphone? Invite some friends over and try out their phones at your house. Make note of the carrier and model of each that you like and don't like. Also ask people at work, at school, or wherever you will be frequently using your phone about their reception AT THAT LOCATION. When you finally make a decision, most carriers will give you about 2 weeks to try the phone before you are locked into a contract. Use this time wisely, and promptly return any phone that doesn't give you good service where you will need it, and be sure to ignore the pleadings of the salesperson ("Be patient. They are putting a new tower 1000 feet from your house in 90 days!") What carrier are you considering using and where are you located? Maybe some folks can give you more specific feedback.
