About 2 months ago I bought this brand new VGA 400 camera phone from cingular. The other day without dropping it or spilling anything on it etc., I found that the screen was busted (phones are made so cheap these days it seems like). It isn't covered by warranty any longer and I have no insurance. So, instead of spending a fortune to repair it, I've heard you can make use any cell phone just as long as you replace the chip. If this is true, my question is: If I switch the chip does the new phone have meet any requirements? For example, does it have to be a motorla phone, does it have to be a phone that Cingular carries, does it have to be a flip phone still??
