My girlfriend just got a V220 with a Cingular Prepaid wireless plan. Would it be possible to use this phone with Alltel service if I unlocked it or something? This phone uses GSM but I should be able to unlock it and put her on my Alltel contract with this phone, shouldnt I? Thanks
Sorry, just joined today. You will not be able to use that phone with any carrier but Cingular. The phone comes sock locked and unless unlocked (meaning it will take another gsm sim card) you will not be able to use it. Alltel uses a technology called CDMA (code divisional multiple access) just like Sprint and Verizon. Cingular, ATT, and TMobile all use GSM. hope you get this
