TEMPE, Ariz. December 19, 2003 - Motorola Computer Group, a part of Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT), today announced the ComStruct™ WTRB500, a high performance media processing board ideal for a range of bearer channel processing applications, was named Product of the Year by TMC’s Internet Telephony® Magazine. The WTRB500 enhances Motorola’s MXP Multi-Service Platform with capabilities such as push-to-talk, video messaging and delivery, conferencing and telecom test equipment.

“Motorola’s WTRB500 is clearly deserving of leadership status in the IP telephony industry. We’re proud to reward their hard work and innovation with a Product of the Year Award for 2003,” said Rich Tehrani, president of TMC and group editor-in-chief of INTERNET TELEPHONY, the premier publication in the burgeoning IP telephony industry.

According to Editorial Director Greg Galitzine, “The Product of the Year awards exemplify the best that this industry has to offer. Motorola has demonstrated a commitment to quality, and a commitment to the further development of the IP telephony industry through its WTRB500. Motorola deserves this great honor, and I look forward to seeing other innovative solutions from them as they continue to contribute to the future of IP telephony.”

The WTRB500 is designed to balance all requirements of a media-processing blade such that each component delivers optimum performance. The WTRB500 is an ideal solution for telecom equipment manufacturers who need to integrate 3rd party or their own proprietary algorithms into a middleware framework. The WTRB500 is designed to operate as an autonomous payload board, tightly coupling Motorola’s PowerPC® architecture control processing, digital signal processing (DSP) and network processing with a range of industry standard telecom interfaces. This architecture reduces overall system cost and decreases a customer’s cost per channel, while improving availability and performance.

A print quality picture of the WTRB500 is available to download from the Motorola Mediacenter in the 'graphix' section under 'embedded computing building blocks.' Also, for more information on the WTRB500 please visit: mcg.motorola.com/ad/wtrb500.

A full list of Product of the Year winners will appear in the January 2004 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY® magazine.
