Motorola V80 Defies Convention With Unique One-Touch Rotating Form

KRAKOW, Poland – Feb. 6, 2004 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT), a global leader in wireless, broadband and automotive communications technologies, today introduced the innovative Motorola V80, which delivers a never-before-seen mobile design with a rotating cover that opens at the touch of a button. Complete with an embedded VGA camera, landscape photo imaging, photo messaging and integrated Bluetooth® wireless technology, the new head-turning mobile appeals to consumers who desire to make a statement with every move.

The tri-band Motorola V80 defies conventional thinking about mobile phone design. When it is closed, the V80 showcases a large external color display ideal for playing games and photo caller id. With a light push of a finger, the cover automatically rotates to unveil a full-size mobile phone ideal for text messaging and voice calls. When the moment arises, users can rotate the cover to a 90 degree angle and automatically set the phone into photo mode. The screen will switch to landscape mode and pictures can be captured with one simple press of a button.

"The Motorola V80 is designed to tap the desires of those consumers who crave the perfect intersection of style and technology,” said Ron Garriques, senior vice president and general manager, Motorola, PCS, EMEA. “With an eye-catching design, the style-driven model V80 combines cutting-edge technology features with a unique form to answer trendsetter's wireless needs by making it easy to talk, text, take pictures and, most of all, showcase their style.”

The model V80’s MP3 ringtones and situational lighting help consumers bring their own personality to the handset. Attach your favorite song or lights to your friend’s number so you are alerted when they call or play your favorite JAVA™ games arcade-style with flashing lights.
