Looking for Motorola Contact - Need Part for V710

I just spent the last two hours with people at 800.331.6456 and 817.245.6000. I'm looking for the 17 pin connector that is on the V710 (and many others). This is the connector that is on the phone, not the one on the charger/data cable. I found the "mate" (charger/data cable), but cannot seem to find the one that is soldered to the pcb (printed circuit board) of the phone. A while back, I tripped over the charger cable and destroyed the connector. Since then, I have unsoldered it, but I can't find a replacement connector and can't get through to anyone at motorola that wants to help. Any thoughts? Help?

Hi Kathy,

Sorry to hear about your mishap. I looked a lot for parts but they seem kinda scarce.

On the Motorola website it gives a # for service related questions (800)BUY-MOTO that is answered til 10pm weekdays and 6pm weekends, or they have a "Ship It to Us" option for repair, or it has a search option to find an Authorized Service Center in your area http://direct.motorola.com/...uct_MobileDevice.asp

If failing that, do you have insurance on the phone? It might be cheaper and faster to pay the deductible and have the phone replaced.

Give us an update and let us know how they treat you and your satisfaction (or not) with the service you get from Motorola or the insuror, if you go the insurance route.

Hi ,

One other possibility, a link from Owenhui in our Nextel forum gives http://www.huahongnet.com/Plug%20in%20socket.htm as a parts resource but I couldn't be certain that I was looking at the same part that you need. Give a look and see what you think.

You're amazing! I believe it's the one for the V66. Now all I need to do is order it... which might be easier said than done.
