Hey, I have Verizon and am due for a new phone in about 2 weeks. I am either going to get the VCast Samsung or the VCast LG VX8000. I was going for the LG because it had a speakerphone and a mp3 player, or so I've read some places. Other places they neglect to mention it. So this is my question: Does the LG VX8000 have a MP3 player, and if so do you have to buy the Mp3s off of Verizon's service, or can you get a computer cable and transfer from a computer???
thanks a lot, Adam

Well, neither Verizon nor LG make the claim that the VX8000 has MP3 player.

LG when bragging about the phone and the award it won for design listed only MIDI , not MP3, among it's features.

But I , just like you, have heard the claim by others that it can be done. Words are one thing. So has anyone else out there found a way to get the VX8000 to play MP3's? It's time to put up. That is, put up the instructions online where we can all benefit!

About the mp3 thing, in a review by zdnet says, "plays mp3s". Also, "Similarly, while the mobile has an MP3 player, you'll have to pay to download any files." They also sell cables to hook the phone up to your PC.

I liked my older Samsung, but it doesn't have the features the LG does. Too bad the 8100 isn't coming out sooner, can't wait that long with the pos phone I got now.

Interesting stuff. The manual doesn't mention MP3 and neither does LG's website or Verizon's. But I have seen several reviews like the ZDNet one that make that claim. Anybody actually been able to use MP3s on this phone?
