Need help, advice, similar problems, anything from someone. I bought a LG L1150 about 3 months ago. We had AT&T and added a new line. The phone worked fine, until AT&T was bought out by Cingular. The phone would just stop making calls or receiving them for 30-60 minutes at a time even with a full signal bar. So, I went in to the store and they said that the problem was most likely that since Cingular bought AT&T, the phone was manufactured before they knew they would buy them and it did not have the necessary software. I call warranty exchange and they sent me a new phone. I do always hate this because I bought a new phone and I get a used one back. Oh well. But this phone does not work, automatically transfers calls to my voicemail no matter what I do. Wonderful. So I am getting mad. Call again to get new phone. This one drops calls like mad. Haven't been able to take or make more than 2 calls since I've received it. Unless I have all 5 signal bars cant even attempt to make a call. Doesn't drop them like normal either. I just look down and my screen looks like no such call ever happened. This is for incoming and outgoing calls. Call again. They say they will yet again give me the same model phone. Explain this model clearly is a problem, want different model. Have 4 lines through AT&T and threaten to pull them all. Solution they give me. Move to Cingular and buy a new phone. No one to talk to, no one will help me. No one at AT&T/Cingular has any decision making powers and rattles off the same script over and over. Wrote letters, emails, nothing. I dont care what the contract I signed said, a 2 month old phone is still new and I expect it to be working. Contract says after a month, they are useless and wont do anything to help you. HELP! Need testimonials to same problems, 1150 problems something. Considering throwing phone and self over freeway overpass at this point. Spent 12 total hours attempting to fix this issue, mainly talking to warranty exchange, once in store, only to have them make me sit on phone with warranty exchange. Short of seriously harming barely english speaking customer service reps at AT&T what do i do?

Hello

I too am having serious issues with the formerly known AT&T.

I have a Sony Ericcson phone, but am experiencing many difficulties. Customer Service is of no help, and there are no phones available to switch to unless I migrate over to Cingular. This is totally unacceptable, but I don't know what to do because I do not want them nor did I contract for them. I have a GSM National Plan and they said just go find a phone on eBay and put my chip in it and it will work. I was going to get this LG phone, but now after reading some of these message, I don't think that's a wise choice either.

If ANYONE has some suggestions, PLEASE help.

Steve

They also told me I could only switch. I kicked screamed and wrote letters to no avail. Last week on campus some guy followed me and I had to run to security and I didnt even have use of my phone. At this point I gave in and switched to Cingular. I have no option. I cannot afford to waste 200 dollars pulling out of my contract plus the cost of signing a new one. I got a Nokie (which I should never have strayed from) and payed 50 bucks plus 18 to switch. This was not ideal, but my safety won out. But I did scream enough to get a 50 dollar refund once they cancelled my service 3 days before I got the new phone. All in all, they will treat you like crap until you switch. Buy a Nokia. I have had about 15 phones over the years, hell with anything but. For the picture phone the quality is not as great, but the lack of stress wins out. Good luck. I am sorry your dealing with their hell too.

Nokia and Motorola will be your best bets with Cingular and ATTWS. LG phones seem to have a high rate of return as I am told by inside sources. LG phones are very cheap in price as well as quality
