LG VX7000 issue of dupe text messages

I recently purchased a LG VX7000 and I text back and forth with someone throughout the day. I usually receive several dupe messages. I don't want these to count against my 1000 a month. Does anyone know why this is happening or how it can be stopped. Or even if it counts against your 1000 a month? Please HELP!

you say you RECEIVE dupe messages - why would these count agin yr 'llowance - surely the allowance is of messages to SEND?
