What options do I have if the phone works but the screen is blank? Seems like the ribbon cable between the keybaord and the display must had flexed too much.
No unfortunately. However, I went into our local Verizon Wireless store and they sold me a refurbished phone for $53.00 which is much better than the retail price of nearly $180.00 and they told me that I will still be eligible for my 2 year replacement in June. I'm happy with the outcome.
Refurbs are kind of a hidden secret. Lots of people don't know about them. If your local dealer doesn't have them, chances are good that by calling Customer Service of your carrier that they may have some.
Good to hear you were able to come out all right. Did you get the same model, or a different one? Did they offer any type of limited warranty with the refurb (60 days, 90 days, etc) ?
You are right about the secret. It wasn't till I asked if they could give me an old phone or a refurb that the topic even came up. Yes they did offer a 90 day warrantee. Good deal for someone in my situation. And yes it is the same model. They didn't give me a new battery either, just the phone itself. Came in a plain white box which they put my broken phone in. They did have a clever gadget to transfer my contact numbers to the new phone.
