Yeah, speakerphones are generally not the way to go. I had an older model with speakerphone and it was the most frustrating thing ever. What I did was upgrade to a Blueooth enabled phone. The sound on the wireless headsets that go with the phones are crystal clear, they're only about the size of a quarter, and you can walk all around your home with them on your ear without having to deal with a cord. Pretty much every cellphone provider has a mainstream Bluetooth phone out there except for Sprint, which still does have a couple if you search around for older models.
