Could be that your battery is failing so it doesn't have enough power to get past the boot.
Hook up the charger and while still hooked up you are relying very little on the battery at this point, so try booting. See how far you get.
Let me know what happens.
Is there anything that was unusual that may have caused this? New software, etc downloaded? Phone dropped or hit, etc? I'm assuming you have used this phone previously for a while with no problem, or is this a new phone for you?
