I got an Audiovox SMT 5600 from the States which is a tri-band phone (if not mistaken) 850/1800/1900 MHz. However, I'm a Malaysian and my network operator only operates the 900 and 1800 Mhz band. I can feel the difference of coverage since this phone now only operates in 1800 band (cannot switch over to my 900 MHz band). Is there a way for me to change the band via a Firmware upgrade? Is there such GSM 900 software stack? If yes - how do I upgrade this? Appreciate your kind help. Thanks!!
