Not Sold on Android Yet? See What it Can Do at a Verizon Wireless Workshop
There’s hardly anybody left in the nation who hasn’t considered a smartphone or doesn’t already have one. Now, with Verizon pushing its new Droid phones (including the obscenely affordable HTC Droid Eris), an even bigger slice of the population pie is toting a smartphone. But for many first time Android users, the newfangled handsets can be a little intimidating and it can sometimes feel like the phone is smarter than it’s owner. Verizon is reaching out to both current subscribers and potential customers with their new online learning centers and Verizon wireless workshops. This week, Verizon is hosting a series of Android workshops to help customers learn the ins and outs of their new Droid. Seating is limited, but you can sit in (if you get a spot) just to see what all the buzz is about. To find one near you, punch in your zip code at their website.
Verizon isn’t just reaching out to Android users, however. They also have ample guides and tutorials for BlackBerry Storm2 users as well. At the online learning center, you can view videos, FAQs and PDF guides that will help you:
- Set up your email on your HTC Droid Eris, Motorola Droid or BlackBerry Storm2
- Navigate your device
- Customize notifications
- Access POP3 email and corporate email
- Get your HP Mini 1151NR up and running on the Verizon network
- Unlock features for other Verizon phones, such as the LG Versa, Palm Treo and Samsung Omnia II
So, if you want to learn how to tap your smartphone’s full potential or you just want to get a taste of what Android is capable of, check out Verizon’s wireless workshop. It’s free and you just might learn something.
