What is CDMA Used For?
If you read about cell phone technology, or if you like learning about it, you’ve probably heard the term CDMA. That doesn’t mean you know what it’s used for, those, or what it offers in the way of technological advances for your cell phone and carrier. CDMA stands for code division multiple access, and it’s a method of channel access for cell phones and other devices that operate on a radio frequency. By using it, multiple people can send information over the same bandwidth without ending up talking or texting on top of each other. That’s great news for cell phone carriers, because they would not be able to have as many customers if they didn’t have the availability for so many people to be talking and texting a once. When you’re shopping for a cell phone, all of the major carriers will have this technology, so it won’t be something you have to ask about.
For people who would otherwise not be sure about what to get in a cell phone, this is one less worry they’ll have. Since you don’t have to ask about CDMA technology, you can busy yourself with other concerns like which phone you like the best and what carrier you want to go with. All carriers may be similar when it comes to the technology that they use, but they aren’t all the same based on price or other features, so take the time to find the one that’s best suited to your needs.
