What is Apple?

Apple was developed on April 1, 1976, by Ronald Wayne, Steve Wozniak, and Steve Jobs. The first product ever released by Apple was the Apple I personal computer. These computers appealed to a large number of people, since they were handmade – literally. It was not until January 3, 1977 that Apple turned into Apple Inc. (after Ronald Wayne sold his share of the company for $800).

Throughout the years, Apple Inc. has manufactured a large number of electronic devices that have gained a steady consumer following. While Apple’s laptops and desktops have always been popular amongst technology savvy consumers, it was not until Apple introduced the iPhone that this company gained worldwide attention quickly.

The iPhone is a Smartphone that was designed and marketed by Apple Inc. When the iPhone was first released, the many unique applications that this phone included earned the phone the nickname “The Jesus Phone.” Today, there are still millions of people around the world who religiously follow iPhone’s latest developments.

The first iPhone was released on June 29, 2007, within the United States earning it Time Magazine’s “Invention of the Year.” The faster iPhone 3G was released on July 11, 2008. The 3G had GPS capabilities, which put the iPhone far ahead of its competition. In June of 2009, the iPhone 3GS was released. The 3GS was immediately popular thanks to enhanced performance, a high resolution camera, voice control, video controls, and many other features.

Many consumers who have never purchased a cell phone now own an iPhone. Popular for its capabilities, unique look, and innovative applications, the iPhone is easily one of the most important wireless phone creations ever invented. From humble beginnings in 1976 to the billion dollar empire that Apple Inc. is today, it’s safe to assume that Apple Inc. will be around for many more decades to come.
