There could be many reasons why Safelink has fewer searches-possibly Safelink users are searching to compare what they receive with what the other programs get. Or it could just be that Tracfone (providers of Safelink)has been around for so many years, people automatically know what they are about, whereas if someone suggested Assurance wireless, they'd need to first find out more about them. Either way, I think the actual numbers say more than searches done, unless there is actual info on growth of each. Personally, I was amazed to see there are over 6 mill subscribers receiving free phones. If you look at prepaid phones and plans, there are so many really dirt cheap options out there-Boost, virgin and of course Tracfone who I know sell phones for $10, and service for as little as $7/month. And how many of those receiving free phones have cable, buy take outs and could actually afford $7/month. I don't say drop the service, but look at the financial state of the country and be more selective. I think your statement that “What this information shows us is that Assurance Wireless is a company to watch when it comes to the Lifeline free government mobile phone market” just because it receives more searches, is rather a large assumption. There could be many reasons why Safelink has fewer searches-possibly Safelink users are searching to compare what they receive with what the other programs get. Or it could just be that Tracfone (providers of Safelink)has been around for so many years, people automatically know what they are about, whereas if someone suggested Assurance wireless, they’d need to first find out more about them. Either way, I think the actual numbers say more than searches done, unless there is actual info on growth of each. Personally, I was amazed to see there are over 6 mill subscribers receiving free phones. If you look at prepaid phones and plans, there are so many really dirt cheap options out there-Boost, virgin and of course Tracfone who I know sell phones for $10, and service for as little as $7/month. And how many of those receiving free phones have cable, buy take outs and could actually afford $7/month.
