What’s New at Cell-Phone-Plans.net?
We’ve been rolling along here at Cell-Phone-Plans.net and have added some excellent Android phones. If you thought the Motorola Droid was the only awesome Android smartphone around, we really think you should check out the HTC Hero, the Motorola Cliq and the T-Mobile myTouch 3G.
We’ve also added some other excellent new phones, including the solid-as-a-rock Motorola Brute and thePalm Pixi Plus and the Palm Pre Plus, which are now available on Verizon Wireless.
Also, have you taken one of our polls yet? We’re rolling out new opportunities for the community members to give us their feedback – weigh in with your opinions on the new Apple iPad and Foursquare. Of course, if your thoughts can’t be confined to a simple checkbox on a ballot, you can always leave your rants and thoughts in the comments section.
That’s about it for now. Meanwhile, keep your eye on the Cell Phone Blog for the latest updates and breaking news.
Valentine’s Day 2.0: Love and the Cell Phone
While technology keeps chugging along, bringing us more powerful features in ever smaller packages, love remains a confounding mystery to most, if not all of us. Here at CPP, we’re not exactly relationship experts or marriage counselors, but we would like to use what we know to make the season of love a bit more navigable. And what we know is cell phones. Check out some of these ideas for using your cell phone to aid you in matters of the heart.
Meet People with Foursquare
Forget Match.com, the real way to meet people using technology is through location aware applications for your smartphone, such as Foursquare. Silicon Valley Insider ran a piece awhile back noting that Foursquare, which is available for Android phones, the iPhone, BlackBerry phones and Palm webOS phones, is particularly apt for flirting. The app lets you see who is “checked in” at nearby bars or other hangouts and gives you an immediate – if not a bit nerdy – ice breaker. Now with Foursquare taking its app worldwide, smartphone users can find their friends (or new friends) in any city.
A Pittsburgh startup called Deeplocal has also created a web app that lets you flirt anonymously with nearby members of the opposite sex, but it has yet to gain traction. Check it out – it’s called Flrti.
Keep in Touch with Video Chat
AT&T has offered Videoshare for quite some time, but it comes at a monthly fee and only allows one-way video chatting between AT&T users. Luckily, Fring has come to the rescue and now allows iPhone and Nokia smartphone users to engage in two-way, free video calling over WiFi or 3G. We have a write up about it on the blog – check it out:Mobile Video Calling: Video Chat on your Cell Phone.
Give the Gift of Cell Phones
Communication is key to any long term relationship – and there’s no better way to keep in touch than with matching cell phones. Many of the phones at Cell-Phone-Plans.net come with buy one get one free deals, and surprising them with that slick new smartphone your mate’s had his or her eye on.
Send Some Dirty Texts
AT&T revealed last year that Valentine’s Day is one of the biggest days for texting. It’s like the digital version of candy hearts. So, do you have something good to say? Check out some of these top 5 provocative text messages for some ideas.
