Top Verizon Cell Phones
Verizon Wireless is one of the largest cellular providers in the country, and they have a fleet of versatile, powerful phones to offer their millions of users. Ranging from flip phones to slider phones, PDAs to smartphones, cameraphones to music player phones and everything in between, there are hundreds of choices for Verizon Wireless customers. Here at Cell-Phone-Plans.net, we’ve been keeping an eye on what users consider the best Verizon Wireless phones available. You may be surprised at some of the top contenders:
The Motorola Krave nabbed the top spot as the most popular Verizon Wireless phone largely thanks to its truly unique design. As a hybrid flip phone and touch screen, the Krave is slim and compact and has a plastic cover that flips up for a Star Trek communicator feel. Underneath is a spacious touch screen with a slick 12 icon main menu and a full QWERTY keyboard. When the phone is closed, users can press buttons through the plastic cover in order to access another set of options.
But the Krave isn’t all flash and glitz. The phone has a decent 2.0 megapixel camera and a 3.5mm headphone jack which makes it excellent for snapping pictures and listening to music.
In the number two position is the Motorola Rival, a slider phone with a full QWERTY keyboard and an iPodesque circular toggle. Not only that, the display acts as a touch screen, allowing you to dial phone numbers without sliding the phone open. Zipping along on Verizon’s EV-DO network, the Rival gets V Cast Video and V Cast Music and also boasts a 2.0 megapixel camera. Call quality is excellent on this phone as well.
3. LG VX5500
Somewhat of a darkhorse, the LG VX5500 proves that there are still cell phone users out there who are primarily using their cell phones for what they were originally built to do: make calls. This free Verizon Wireless phone isn’t going to win any beauty pageants and it’s certainly not jam packed with features, but for basic calls and some light emailing and web browsing, it makes the cut. You can even take a few grainy (yet functional) pictures with the VGA camera. Not a terrible phone for the price ($0).
For Verizon users, it seems that a balance of price vs. features and functionality is most important. Surprisingly, we don’t see a lot of full featured smartphones that can do everything but boil an egg – likely because these phones tend to come with hefty price tags.
