Rugged or Sleek-it’s up to you!

Cell phones have come a long way from the days of car phones and even those clunky, accessory laden bag phones of the late 20th century.  Now, you can pretty much have your pick of phones and they all have their advantages and features.  Depending on your needs, you might be leaning toward a sleek phone that has racecar styling (and yes, there are phones that boast exactly that) or maybe your needs and wants lead you in the direction of a rugged, military grade phone that can withstand the elements and even water.

If you drive a Hummer, you might want your phone to match, so one of the rugged phones is the right choice for you.  Conversely, if a sports car is more your speed, a sleek and slender profile phone with lots of features will probably be the best bet.

Most rugged phones have amazing features like military certified weather resistance, meaning that they can withstand extremes of temperatures, high winds and even sand storms.  If you can imagine the types of conditions that military personnel would encounter in combat and other situations, those are the same kinds of features that manufacturers have put into phones for regular people.  Many of these phones are also very water resistant, which is great and we have all had that moment when our cell phones have fallen into water or just gotten wet.  For a normal phone, that could be the end of its usefulness, but for the rugged phones, it doesn’t mean a trip to the cell phone store.  With extended battery life and push to talk capabilities, these phones are as tough as they look and are great for anyone who is hard on their phone or has a very active lifestyle.  With GPS capabilities, these phones are great for fishermen, hunters, hikers and anyone who loves the great outdoors.

Sleek phones aren’t slackers, either.  With smart phone technology, even the slimmest phone is powerful and full of great features.  The newest phones from Apple, Blackberry and Microsoft offer a sleek styling with amazing flexibility.  The resolution on their relatively large displays is clear enough to make watching movies on your phone an enjoyable experience.  With apps that can do just about anything, your sleek and stylish phone can keep you connected to friends and family and do all kinds of cool and amazing things.  Add a remote app that will let you control your television or even your home computer.  Pick another app that will replace a level when you are working on projects around the house.  You can choose a cool looking phone without sacrificing power and capability.  These phones have cameras, virtual keyboards, amazing video and audio systems and they make phone calls, too.

Whatever your style and whatever your lifestyle there is a phone for you.  There are rugged smart phones that can withstand sand storms and there are phones so cool and futuristic looking that your friends will be jealous.  Either way, you will have everything you need and want in a phone.
