There are lots of phones to choose from but in the main seniors need some very specific requirements for a cell phone.
The must have a larger key pad, a larger display, have a menu system that’s very intuitive and straight forward and great sound and speaker quality.
They are less concerned about emails and internet browsing, mp3 playing etc.
Lots of older people like to txt their kids, but it has to very simple, to use.

Choosing the perfect phone for seniors can be quiet confusing, especially that there are already a number of cell phone to choose from in the market. So then, let me share my ideas to find the right cell phone for the elderly. I just fine it relevant for the consumers to set their own standard when buying certain item to spare them from getting the wrong product and confusion as well.
The first thing to consider is the price. Money is tough to earn so people should wisely spend it. Because the cell phones for seniors are not very elaborative, I don’t think it can also cost a lot. Look for the device that has big and clear keypad, louder volume, and with emergency button. The latter feature is very important to secure the safety of the elderly at all times. Of course, it is also important to get a phone that has a long-lasting battery.
To make it simpler, let me suggest Just5 phone to all the seniors out there. These phone features all the substantial things that every elderly needs. As an addition, this phone also features basic entertainment such as FM radio.

We have been looking into a cell phone for my father who lives alone but haven’t found an affordable one that offers only the simple features he would use. There are many to choose from. The Just5 phone mentioned above does deserve a look.

Thank you for an interesting article. I’ll have to check out that comparison tool.
For now though, my senior mom has one of the Jitterbug cell phones for senior citizens. She loves it and so do I!
She finds it is relatively easy for her to use. It gives her a cushion of safety, letting her be able to take walks knowing if an emergency were to arise, she can easily make a call. She loves that she just has to push the 0 if it’s a real emergency – just like she used to do when she was much younger.
I love that it gives me peace of mind when I have to be away from home. Plus it’s quite handy when we go shopping at a big store like Walmart. When she’s done, she just calls my cell phone.
We personally consider the Jitterbug to be the best of the senior cell phones.
Thanks again.

I notice Tracfone is on the list of best prepaid plans on the link in your article, but it doesn’t mention Tracfone Senior Value plan. I suppose it’s because the plan just came out. I never knew about it until I was shopping for a phone with all the senior do da’s at K-Mart the other day. Everyone advised me to get Jitterbug, but I don’t use my cell phone often, so I didn’t want to pay that much for a senior phone. Besides, now I’ve had the chance to check it out, I found the Senior Value phone has better covarage. I never text or use the web, so I just wanted a good phone with large enough keys and display that I can see easily. The screen on the Samsung T-155 I got with my Senior Value phone is lit, so I can see it at night as well. The phone also has emergency 911 assist and was amazingly affordable. When it comes to cell phones, a lot of seniors are looking for reliability and affordability in addition to easy to use.

O.K. given what you stated. Can you offer a brand and server to do business with. I just placed my mother in a nursing home. Please assist if you can.

Ida that is a great post. I also just discovered that the Senior Value plan with Tracfone is available. This is going to be a great gift for my parents for the holidays. It is so affordable, I can buy the phone and the first year of service for them. No contract and it uses the AT&T provider network so great coverage. My favorite feature of the phone is the 911 emergency location assistance. This is very reassuring to the family. No senior should be without this. Thanks Tracfone for making this possible.

TracFone’s SVC is a really simple idea but a powerful one. Simplicity is important but so is value and price. This one has all three, doesn’t it?
I’m thinking about getting this for my gram for Xmas.
