Even God Has a Cell Phone: Celebrity Cell Phone Apps

Anyone who has a television set is well aware that the myTouch 3G, T-Mobile’s flagship Android phone, is the seem official cell phone of celebrities. Now, Eric Clapton and Fender are partnering up with T-Mobile to promote the sunburst-inspired myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition.

Commercials for the revamped myTouch 3G (manufactured by HTC) feature the guitarist referred to in the graffiti proclaiming that “Clapton is God” during his days with John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers. But other than the new paint job, the Fender myTouch 3G also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack (which earlier versions lacked) and a 16 GB microSD card preloaded with some choice Clapton tunes.

In the promo, y0u’ll see Clapton pull up a few of his favorite apps, including the Solo app, which lets you strum guitar chords right on the phone. He also enjoys Shazam, Locale and Rehearsal Assistant apps, which you can make your own, too on your myTouch 3G.

Whoopi Goldberg

The star of Sister Act makes her myTouch 3G sing with white earbuds and the Musician Shell plus the Sherpa app, which uses location aware services to find stores, attractions and other local points of interests.

Chevy Chase

Funny man says the myTouch 3G makes him younger and he digs the addictive Kitten Cannon game.

Avril Lavigne

Avril Lavigne, punk popper/pop rocker adds RockOut to her myTouch 3G, a snazzed up virtual guitar for Android with tons of chords, sounds and a built-in effects pedal, too.

Brad Paisley

West Virginian native Brad Paisley is somewhat technology adverse – he says he breaks out in hives when he sees “LOL” – but he still enjoys playing Pacman on his myTouch 3G. Also, he used his phone as a digital scratch pad when working out his new album.

Wyclef Jean

Wyclef Jean, on the other hand, is a gadget man and he loves the myTouch 3g because it “adapts to the musician.” He loves pulling live videos from his phone and sending them to Wyclef.com immediately. He also uses his myTouch 3G to tune his guitar.

Dana Carvey

SNL alumnus Dana Carvey marvels at all the things  that his myTouch 3G can do. He uses it for reading Express News, saving his photos and playing with the “sensual” Steamy Window app.
