3G Networks
With the growing popularity of smartphone technology, and the ever-increasing demand for greater functionality people have for their mobile devices, it is not only the devices themselves that must adapt, but the networks they operate on as well. One of the fastest growing network types is 3G, which is short for third generation.
This means 3G networks meet hardware and technology requires created by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). Unlike Wi-Fi networks, which are short-range and large bandwidth, 3G networks are cellular phone networks that cover a broad area to provide fast internet service and high-speed data transmission. What this means for mobile phone users on 3G networks is their mobile devices will be able to transmit and receive various types of data and digital media faster than they have before.
The upside is obvious: you can email, download files and browse the web more fluidly and pretty much anything you would normally use your mobile device for will take less time and be more efficient. Some issues people have with 3G networks are the higher cost of both mobile phones that operate on 3G networks and subscribing to network providers. There is also an issue of availability, as 3G technology is still a relatively new service, and not all providers have such networks up and running yet.
Some popular phones to utilize this technology are the T-Mobile G-1 with Google and the LG Touch series, including the LG Dare. If you are looking for the fastest mobile experience, be sure you have a 3G-ready phone.

Help me admin and guys out here… i think you all guys must be knowing about this…! am totally dumb when it comes to knowing anything about my phone. I want to be able to catch up all my tv shows while I spend countless hours in the car. How, if possible, do I download my shows to my phone? I bought the JUPITER JACK so I can listen thru my car stereo…but now I just need to know how to get the shows to my phone. Thanks!
