The Most Affordable Cell Phone Plans, Virgin Mobile, MetroPCS, & Sprint

There are so many providers, plans and cell phones to choose from that it can be a daunting task. To help simplify your life to that end, we have researched a few of the most affordable cell phone plans currently available on the market today. A few basic questions will define your personal search for a cell phone plan: Do you want a two year contract, do you need a data plan, and how many minutes per month do you average?

More and more people prefer no-contract plans due to the constantly changing phones, plans, and available technology. A no-contract plan gives you the ability to cancel at any time, switch phones as you desire, and avoid large penalty plans. There are two Cell Phone carriers who excel at providing low cost no-contract solutions for the cellular industry – Virgin Mobile and Metro PCS.

Virgin Mobile has three basic plans:

  • · $25 per month and 400 anytime minutes
  • · $40 per month and 1200 anytime minutes
  • · $60 per month and unlimited minutes

MetroPCS offers several plans starting at $40 to $60. All of their plans come with unlimited minutes and they vary based on features like email plans and international calls. Both Virgin Mobile and MetroPCS are similar in nature when you reach the $60 price point, the difference is that Virgin Mobile offers a low cost solution for those who rarely use their minutes.

Besides MetroPCS & Virgin Mobile, most carriers have stopped providing unlimited data plans and when they are offered, they are expensive and require two year contracts. Sprint offers an unlimited data plan for as low as $60 per month but has a limit of 400 minutes per month and requires a lengthy contract. It just doesn’t make sense to sign a long contract with new phones are coming out every few months and ever increasing download speeds of 4G now available.

The cost of the cell phones is just as important as the cost of the monthly contract. A new smart phone on contract at Sprint can costs upwards of $200 whereas a smart phone at Virgin Mobile without a contract costs between $75 and $150. MetroPCS prices vary but are similar in range to the Virgin Mobile plans.

If this is you, it is highly recommended to go with MetroPCS or Virgin Mobile as you are not locked into a contract and can purchase cheap phones as often as you want.

In Conclusion, there are several affordable options starting around $25 a month for a cell phone without a contract and all the bells and whistles of the larger carriers. All you need to decide is which one works best for you based on your usage. Check out the wide range of plans and cell phones available at http://www.cell-phone-plans.net.
