Apple Deleting All Mentions of the Consumer Reports iPhone 4 Piece on Forums

They can’t delete your thoughts… or can they? When it comes down to it Apple has really managed to completely perfect the art form of selective “non remembrance”. This has been done transversely around an amazingly large amount of the population. Need a refresher?
The Consumer Reports has put down the proverbial gauntlet stating that they’re not going to be able to recommend the iPhone 4 until Apple resolves all of the antenna issues that the phone is having. They state that those issues in the labs and in theirs have been verified very considerably. Apple of course isn’t happy about that whatsoever. They’ve now taken to the deletion of any mention of the article from Consumer Reports from their support forms.
The act of Apple deleting threads from their forums really isn’t anything new of course outside of the “regular” moderation that they do; the company will delete discussions routinely from the forums like the discussions of hardware flaws. This happens when they’re not ready to admit or more generally not able to take the general negativity line of thought about their product.
I guess this means that it’s a really good thing that the internet is a very big place though. Obviously Apple is trying to not admit the largess of the antenna issue but there are plenty of other sources and ways for the consumer to gripe about it. This could all be solved by them simply fixing their product but admitting ones mistakes especially on such a large scale hasn’t always been Apples strong suit.
I know I won’t be purchasing an iPhone anytime soon and that feeling goes along with many, many people. I’m very happy with my Motorola Droid. Do you have something to say? Feel free to use the comments below.
